The Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California (USC) is seeking an adjunct instructor for a new professional skills-building program for master's students that addresses a critical competency for st century professionals - the ability to create, sustain and thrive within diverse work environments. (MCDO) is an eight-week online program delivered year-round in collaboration with Minerva Project.
Instructors will facilitate eight weekly, -minute long active learning-based sessions and an orientation. Successful class sessions are reliant on the instructor's ability to establish a sense of belonging and community, while skillfully facilitating important but sometimes challenging conversations between groups of master's students from diverse backgrounds. In total, instructors will commit approximately hours per semester for training and practice classes, teaching and preparation, and weekly team meetings. Trainings, classes and meetings will be conducted online. Instructors must have a webcamera-enabled personal computer for all sessions. Tablets and mobile devices are not sufficient to fully engage with the learning environment.
Requirements for consideration include a B.A., B.S., M.S., or an M.A. degree in a related field. Previous teaching, group facilitation or professional coaching experience in related topic areas are preferable. For some courses, outstanding professional experience may be substituted for academic credentials.

USC reserves the "Adjunct" appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
