Position Summary
The Permitting Specialist will be a critical member of the construction team for determining permitting requirements to execute charging deployments for IONNA.
They will need to work with 3 rdparty construction and EPC partners to support them in permitting expedites and in permit approvals. They must have a strong understanding of large-scale, complex, project siting and permitting processes.
Responsibilities
Perform a variety of routine and complex clerical, administrative and technical work in the processing and issuance of a variety of permits
Provider internal expertise on federal, state, and local permitting regulations and processes as they relate to potential project sites
Work with Construction team to aid in supporting documentation for permit submission and approvals
Develop and maintain relationships with municipalities to support permitting activities
Follow up on inquiries about project status in a timely, efficient, and professional manner
Follow up with local jurisdictions for application process, costs, and status updates
Drive permitting and inspection process improvements and code compliance updates through strategic engagement with local government staff
Work with Government Affairs team on escalations requiring elected official engagement and local ordinance passage
Skills and Experience
2+ years of permit processes, regulations, and projects experience
EV experience and/or related energy background strongly preferred
Experience working with regulatory entities (federal, state, and local)
Proven capability of working in a fast paced and always changing environment
Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving mentality
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
