- Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments
- Records findings of examinations, assessments, and plan of care
- Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications
- Orders and interprets laboratory and radiology examinations
- Determines treatment plan for patient
- Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record
- Acts as a patient advocate for the population served
- Attends, participates, and contributes to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested
- Interest in working in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Weekend and shared surgical call
- Supports 5 MDs (4 surgeons, 1 interventional cardiologist) with case volumes of approximately 15 cases per week
- At least 1 year of experience preferred in the NP role in Vascular Surgery
- Completed an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant or acute care nurse practitioner program
- Both basic and advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support
- Experience with first assisting in the OR preferred
- Board Certification by appropriate board
- Superb communication skills, and a passion for program development and collaboration

Overview
Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute announces a new hospital-employed opportunity for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Vascular Surgery Team. This person will primarily assist our vascular surgeons in the operating room, the hospital and clinic setting, taking care of a broad spectrum of vascular medical conditions. They will be first and second assisting the surgeon with routine and complex vascular procedures.

As one of the region's highest volume vascular centers, we perform more than 2,500 procedures each year. This means we're experienced with every type and stage of disease affecting the arteries, lymphatic system, and veins - and we can give you the best chance of an excellent outcome. We're one of the region's first centers offering the breakthrough transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) procedure to treat blocked carotid arteries and have been named a TCAR Center of Excellence - a testament to our top outcomes for this minimally invasive treatment. We also repair and treat aortic aneurysms, peripheral artery disease, and provide comprehensive vein treatment. We also have pioneered an innovative limb salvage program, and since launching in 2012, we have saved 150% more limbs, often for patients who have been referred for amputation.
