    Responsibilities

    This Senior Associate position is in Dewey Square's Grassroots Practice and will support clients focused on a range of issue areas, including technology, healthcare, energy, and social issues. The Senior Associate will work in a team environment to craft and implement creative strategies to support our clients' priorities and will collaborate with the firm's other practice areas to develop multifaceted advocacy campaigns.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Manage client-related projects and ongoing activities
    • Regularly prepare written content for internal communications and reporting, as well as public-facing content that helps advance our clients' public affairs goals
    • Develop a deep understanding of the policy and political landscape for your campaigns and follow news related to legislative/ballot initiatives, key opinion leaders and stakeholders, and political dynamics at the national, state, or local level
    • Project management and upkeep of databases, tracking documents and weekly reports
    • Contribute to business development projects, such as pitch decks and proposals
    • Conduct client calls and meetings
    • Manage, train and develop junior staff members

    Qualifications

    • Education: An undergraduate degree is required
    • Work Experience: 2-4 years of experience working in government affairs, public policy, communications, political campaigns, public relations or a related role.
    • Some project management or campaign experience is preferred
    • Strong organization and time management skills, acute attention to detail, and knowledge of MS Office are essential
    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and research and grasp complex policy issues
    • Skilled in writing clearly and concisely on complex topics for a variety of audiences
    • Ability to nurture client relationships and work well with internal and external staff at all levels
    • Outstanding communication skills and ability to work in a very collaborative environment
    • Eager to work in a fast-paced environment while juggling priorities and meeting deadlines
    • Resourceful, results oriented, team-player who is a self-starter with a positive "can do" attitude
