Logistics CoordinatorWe are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our client's team as a Logistics Coordinator.
The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in coordinating the movement of goods, managing transportation logistics, and ensuring the smooth flow of operations within our supply chain.
This is a Contract opportunity located near Elk Grove IL.Responsibilities:
Coordinate and schedule the transportation of goods, including inbound and outbound shipments, to ensure timely delivery and optimal use of resources.
Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, customs forms, and export/import documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations and requirements.
Monitor and track the status of shipments, proactively identify issues or delays, and implement solutions to minimize disruptions and meet delivery deadlines.
Work closely with warehouse and distribution teams to coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in inventory management.
Collaborate with procurement and purchasing teams to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess inventory holding costs.
Assist in evaluating and selecting transportation providers, carriers, and logistics partners based on cost, reliability, and service quality.
Provide support and assistance to other departments, such as customer service and sales, to address logistics-related inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in logistics coordination, transportation management, or supply chain operations required.
Strong understanding of logistics processes, transportation modes, and industry regulations.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency in using computer software and tools, including MS Office applications and logistics management systems.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze situations, identify alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and operational requirements.

Pay is $27- $35 an hour depending on experience
