    Description

    Mazak Corporation is looking for a Product Specialist to join the Advantec department at our National Technology Center located in Florence, KY. The Advantec Product Specialist will work with the department to support product sales, marketing, pricing, delivery, and technical support for regional and sales headquarters efforts. The product specialist will also work with Mazak's marketing and advertising agency of record to keep Mazak's digital and print tools updated. This includes support and development of machine pictures, specifications, brochures, videos and corporate content used our website, CRM, Media on Demand and Sales Portal. You may also be tasked with facilitating training sessions, sales events, as well as assisting with new product launches.

    Scope and Responsibilities:
    Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
    * Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
    * Provide technical support to customers (new and existing customers) assisting Mazak's sales representatives to answer questions and support the sales process.
    * Develop and keep updated competitive analysis information.
    * Read, analyze, and react to market metrics information including lost business reports, competitive reports, market trend reports, and trade magazines.
    * Manage hold and sold notifications from the regions in the Mazak 820 computer system.
    * Review and approve, deny, or hold new incoming orders searching for order accuracy.
    * Assist in the recommendation of Mazak suppliers which best supports the Mazak machine tool.
    * Manage Mazak's digital sales tools for updates and accuracies including iQuote, Media on Demand, The Sales Portal.
    * Monitor sales and inventory levels and prepare charts as needed to support management with decisions to order open machines or create sales promotion programs.
    * Suggest to top management ideas for new product developments making our machines and options more competitive.
    * Visit customers and attend regional trade shows which is needed to learn market trends and help regional sales people secure orders. Some air travel is a must.
    * Hosting of customer, supplier, press and civic visitors to Mazak's Florence Kentucky 3 building campus tours from visitors. Knowledge and awareness of the core competencies taking place in Mazak's 3 building campus is a must.
    * Help to conduct training classes or sales meetings to introduce or educate the sales organization on Advantec products and options.
    * Attend regional and HQ trade shows and customer events for the purpose to help support sales.
    * Travel approximately 10% of the time to North American areas is required with International Travel to Japan approx. once every 4 - 5 years.

    Education/Certification:

    • Associate degree preferred.
    • CMTSE Certified Machine Tool Sales Engineer is preferred and encouraged to obtain.

    Skills:

    • Mechanical aptitude required with preference towards a manufacturing background.
    • 1-3 years of Machine Tool experience
    • 1-3 years CAD software experience
    • Sales experience is a plus
    • Adobe Software experience is a plus
    • Superb verbal and written communication skills, as well as great telephone etiquette.
    • Ability to memorize details like product specifications.
    • Articulate and able to perform demonstrations that engage and inspire. Outgoing and personable.
    • Deadline-driven, and willing to work after hours as needed.
    • A strong growth mindset.

    Qualifications


    Experience 1 - 3 years: Machine Tool experience (required)
