    Summary



    The Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) with the Consult Management Team offers diversity in services that includes (but is not limited to) mental health, specialty services, and Community Care. The AMSA provides administrative support and performs functions necessary to promote timely and outstanding care for the Veterans both within the VA and with our Community Vendors.

    Duties


    Job duties for the Advanced Medical Support Assistant (Community in the Care) include:

    • Work Collaboratively with Consult Management Team Members to assure patient the Right care in right place at right time
    • Direct communication with Veterans/Caregivers to provide eligibility options of care
    • Direct communication with Veterans/Caregivers to discuss patient preferences for scheduling
    • Coordinate scheduling efforts for within VA care and at CBOC
    • Coordinate scheduling efforts with Community Vendors
    • Coordinate Records retrieval from Community Vendors
    • Verify and Update insurance information with Veterans/Caregivers
    • Timely response to Veteran/Caregiver questions and concerns
    • Other Tasks deemed appropriate by Supervisor to facilitate the timely care of our Veterans
    Work Schedule: Decided at hiring, based on operational needs, rotating and irregular shifts which may include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
