    Description
    This position is for a Senior Staff Accountant that will report to the Corporate Controller.

    The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and credit cards as well ensuring invoicing and bill payment systems are correctly importing data into the accounting system.

    The Senior Staff Accountant will also assist in the monthly close process and will be cross trained to be able to assist with invoicing and bill entry tasks as needed.

    This role will be for the largest Republican Political Consulting firms in the US.

    There are multiple entities and product lines, including intercompany transactions, and applicants will need to have a firm grasp of accounting principles to adequately perform the duties of this job.

    The nature of this industry is cyclical, and overtime may be required on a regular basis during certain time periods.

    Job Responsibilities


    Assist the Controller in the monthly close process by examining balance sheet and clearing accounts to ensure the accuracy of financials.

    Perform reconciliations to ensure accurate communication between the accounting system and payment processors.
    Assist other staff with bill entry on an as needed basis.
    Assist with invoicing of customers on an as needed basis.


    EDUCATION
    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.

    Experience

    3+ years of experience in public or corporate accounting.
    Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant preferred.

    Other Requirements

    Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel; advanced knowledge a plus
    Experience communicating in a professional environment and interfacing with multiple different stakeholders
    Experience with an ERP system such as Sage Intacct.
    Must be a self-starter with the ability to be given a task and work independently.
