    POSITION SUMMARY:


    This position will be responsible to review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and assist in the design of programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent injury caused by physical, chemical, or ergonomic factors.

    The position is responsible for managing environmental programs and activities for the facility.

    The EHS Manager assures compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations by monitoring all regulatory requirements of all environmental permits issued to the facility.


    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Assess and evaluate plant conditions for compliance, conduct or manage inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing environment, health and safety.

    Perform field audits of all personal protective equipment in use in the facility.

    Ensure completion of routine inspections of safety equipment as required (i.e Emergency eye-washes/showers, fire extinguishers, etc).Work with supervision to develop and implement Job Safety Analysis for each job.

    Take regular noise level readings in plant areas as required.
    Inspect and maintain a log of all emergency response equipment and operational status.
    Assist with reports and statistical analysis of EHS data for corporate review.

    Conduct ergonomic assessments and implement corrective measures to reduce ergonomic injuriesConduct new-hire employee safety orientation and mandatory EHS trainingLead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning and execution.

    Provide assistance to the engineering team for new manufacturing process, construction, demolition and renovation activities.

    Interact with all Federal, State and Local agencies to assure ongoing compliance as well as compliance of any process changes or the addition of new processes to the facility.

    Update Environmental procedures in line with changing permits and regulationsManaging EHS records to ensure proper access and retention of EHS records is maintainedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDBachelor's degree in EHS or related field or equivalent experience4+ years of experience in EHS within a manufacturing environmentExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to think creatively and strategically to identify and mitigate EHS risksKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREDStrong knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practicesExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to think creatively and strategically to identify and mitigate EHS risks#J-18808-Ljbffr
