    Erie Family Health Centers, a top workplace in Chicago and suburbs, is looking for a valuable addition to our Behavioral Health Team Psychiatrists diagnose, treat and help prevent psychiatric disorders in a community health center setting.

    Prescribe and monitor medication. Collaborate with medical providers and Behavioral Health team. Provide continuity of care to each patient.

    Responsibilities:
    Diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders

    Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric advance practice registered nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.

    Document treatment and consultation
    Consult with medical team and BH team
    Be responsible for supervising and mentoring residents regarding psychiatric diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental disorders

    Analyze and evaluate patient data and test or examination findings to diagnose nature and extent of psychiatric disorders and evaluate for co-existing or contributing medical conditions.

    Prescribe, direct, and administer medications to treat psychiatric, emotional, or behavioral disorders.

    Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives, and other professionals.

    Performs assessment of new clients and updates returning clients
    Manages and monitors med compliance
    Provides supervision and instruction to residents.
    Keeps records as required
    Documents all patient care activities
    Participates as member of interdisciplinary health care team

    Maintains at least minimum CME certificates as required by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

    Adheres to all Erie Family Health Center policies & procedures.

    Qualifications


    Skills and Knowledge:
    Licensed physician in the state of Illinois
    Proficiency in medical Spanish preferred


    Experience:
    At least 3 years of experience in community health or with a similar patient population while in training is preferred
    Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, MD or DO
