    Job DescriptionDescription:

    The Industrial Process Engineer will plan, direct, and coordinate the manufacturing process for multiple extrusion product lines. The objective is to develop new equipment or product line extensions that meet needs in a responsive manner, improve methods, processes and document the results of these efforts. Follows all company established methods, policies, rules, practices, and procedures to ensure employee safety, product quality, efficient operations and profitability. Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Applies strong critical thinking skills to improve the business. Provides detailed written operating instructions for operators and supervisors regarding product manufacture. Works with Quality Control on resolving customer concerns and raw material issues impacting product performance or manufacturability.

    Requirements:RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Establishes effective working relationships with manufacturing, maintenance, machine shop and other engineering department personnel, coordinates project activities and provides accurate information and technical knowledge to support operations goals and objectives.

    · Reads and analyzes blueprints or sketches for machine and/or tooling designs and quotes.

    · Retrieves information from electronic database systems such as SharePoint. Operates computer equipment to enter and transmit data, compile data and maintain records, send communications and/or generate reports.

    · Monitors and improves the efficiency, output, and safety of the manufacturing process through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel.

    · Responds to regularly occurring requests for information and documents, compiles statistics and customer account information and prepares reports for management.

    · Regularly implements directives and maintains high efficiency and quality in job functions performed. Completes all work in a clear, concise and timely manner with excellent attention to detail.

    · Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS


    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related field or equivalent experience.


    • Minimum 5 years plastic manufacturing plant experience (plastic extrusion preferred) with at least 4 years supervising production employees in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.


    • Demonstrated leadership, communications, people skills (written and verbal) Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.


    • Firsthand experience in lean manufacturing methods, problem solving, best practice production systems.


    • Initiative-taking and leads by example, able to bring forth continuous improvement ideas and implement them.


    • Working knowledge of MRP systems, Microsoft Office & SharePoint.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


    • Able to endure working in a manufacturing environment with excessive hot and cold temperatures inside, able to tolerate exposure to dust and noise for 12-hour shifts.


    • Regularly; sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, and lift.
