- Generates financial statements and monthly reports for assigned locations.
- Supervises the closing of fiscal accounting periods as established.
- Prepares the monthly financial statements including supporting schedules and management reports. Analyzes actual costs to budget and addresses variances.
- Heading monthly financial review calls to discuss company performance
- Work with key personnel to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts. Works with management to address any variances in established budgetary and financial goals and objectives including staffing, capital expenditures, productivity, etc.
- Oversees the activities of the A/P and A/R areas to ensure accurate and timely disbursements and cash collections are made according to plan.
- Works with departments to establish expense budgets for manufacturing and non-manufacturing areas.
- Maintains the General Ledger Chart of Accounts and financial reporting modules in the database systems.
- Develops standard costs for new and existing products in connection with the preparation for the annual budget.
- Monitors costs and variance from standard cost throughout the year and prepares product line analysis for management review.
- Maintains the costs in the bill of materials of the ERP module and ensures accuracy of costs.
- Monitors and maintains the perpetual inventory system.
- Supports corporate in the completion of the annual audit and the development and maintenance of the systems of internal accounting controls. Assists in the development of financial policies where appropriate.
- Works with A/P to resolve issues with 3-way match and works with A/R to resolve customer issues.
- Responsible for all accounting functions related to reviewing and monitoring established standards.
- May be required by Management to perform other reasonable work-related tasks.
- May require limited travel for meetings etc.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum 10 years progressive accounting, finance, budgeting, and cost control principles with management experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Costing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must have solid understanding of GAAP, strong general ledger work experience and leadership skills.
- Must be competent in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel
- Must be a self-starter that is results and detail oriented, have a high level of accuracy, and be able to work independently.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to relate and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Experience with Plex or Epicor preferred

Job Description Summary
The Controller will be the key financial resource for our Urbana, Ohio plant. This role is a full-time, exempt, in-office position.
Responsibilities include overseeing the accounting staff at the Urbana, Ohio location, generating monthly financial statements and monthly reports, driving the annual budget process, supporting the year-end audit, cost model management and development, and ensuring sufficient financial controls and procedures are in place and followed.
