This position will have responsibility for Manufacturing Engineering functions in various areas of West Machining.

Develop & Improve Machining and or Assembly manufacturing processes;

Manage complex projects;
Process Engineering Changes;
Use Industrial Engineering Tools – Time Studies/Line Balancing / Man Machine Charts/Value Stream Maps to eliminate waste;
LN system use & training to users;
Validate/support all quality gate audits;
Determine processing needs to assure fixtures, tooling and methods are provided to meet schedules and production requirements;
Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Internal Certification, etc;
Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean production environment;
Evaluate, assess, and identify training needs of the workforce;
CNC/PLC Programming Awareness (Machining Only);
Education / Training
2 year technical degree or equivalent manufacturing experience (4 year degree desired);
Strong knowledge of PC / data entry;
Intermediate level skills of Microsoft Office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint);
Ability to read and understand specification and standards documents;
CNC Programming Experience preferred;
Must also be able to perform the following for the duration of shift:
Heavy manufacturing environment, subjecting employees to noise, vibration, and chemical elements;
Will be working near moving mechanical parts, overhead cranes and lift truck traffic;
Continual use of ladders/platforms/stairs to access engine and or machines in various stages of assembly or manufacture;
Periodically walking short and long distances;
