    RDG Global, an apparel design and manufacturing company with a strong international presence is seeking a

    Director of Pre-Production .

    The Director of Pre-Production should be highly motivated, engaged, bright, and detail oriented to manage our sweater and knits specialty private label accounts.

    This position will support design, sales, sourcing, and production by providing competitive pricing, quality of product and on time deliveries.

    Work with factories to maintain on time sample and production delivery dates, as well as ensure quality of product meets or exceeds standards.

    Help achieve company margin goals.

    Duties include but not limited to:

    Send cost inquiries to vendors including target price calculation, TP, collect and send samples and/or standards along with program details.

    Work with factories on cost analysis, negotiation, and TNA.
    WIP Management.
    Review prices and compare with historical data.
    Place orders to factories and detail order specification
    Track orders and review weekly WIP reports to ensure on-time deliveries.
    Pull standards and review samples and submits with design for approval.

    Re-source/ develop product if an order is allocated to a different factory than the product was originally developed for price, delivery, or other reasons.

    Review and approve testing and inspection reports.
    Manage daily communication with factories.
    Manage daily communication with private label customers as it relates to product.
    Learn, implement, and stay up to date on Customers' product specifications & manuals.
    Maintain On-Order reports, costing and margin reporting.
    Responsible for recommending new and fully compliant factories to the company's factory base.
    Manage the production and approvals process from inception through final shipment.
    Work with traffic to guarantee on-time delivery.
    Ability to negotiate with factories and agents a must.
    Daily monitoring of the full production process and trouble-shooting potential problem areas.
    Responsible for maintaining the company's high-quality standards with all factories.

    Qualifications & Experience:
    Experience
    Experience in sweaters, wovens, knits, and activewear sourcing, product development/production.
    Experience with private label customers (Kohl's a plus)
    10+ yrs. experience in an international production and sourcing environment.
    Relationships with vendors in multiple countries.
    In depth technical understanding of apparel design, construction, and fabrications.
    Full understanding of the product development process.
    Skills
    Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) Suite.
    Knowledge of or experience with PDM/PLM is helpful.
    Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize in a changing environment.
    Must be a team player and have high energy.
    Top-notch follow up skills are essential.
    Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
    Ability to speak Chinese including Mandarin and Cantonese a plus.
    Education
    Bachelor's Degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising or related field or 10+ years of related production & sourcing experience.
