- Direct all housing operations as the lead housing officer for a residential living and learning community of 1,030 students serving as champion of and advocate for residential students on issues and concerns which impact their collegiate experiences; Provide leadership, supervision, training, direction, evaluation and support to all professional and paraprofessional personnel within Student Housing.
- Interpret and implement departmental, divisional, college, and University System of Georgia housing regulations, policies, and procedures ensuring Student Housing is in compliance with all applicable policies and procedures. Develop and implement guidelines and policies for the operation of the Student Housing operation to include branding, visitation, conduct, residence hall contracts, and community living standards guidelines.
- Serve as the supervisor of Student Housing budgets, strategic plans and assessment initiatives, including development, monitoring, forecasting, and long-range planning of annual housing rates, mandatory fees and departmental and PPV budgets. Supervise and implement appropriate emergency and crisis response policies and procedures in the residence halls, including on-call rotation response and procedures; sustain collaboration with Student Affairs, Dean of Students, Public Safety, Counseling & Psychological services and other support personnel as required.
- Serve as a member of the institutional Behavioral Intervention Team (Grizzly Care Team). Facilitate resource management, support, advocacy, and assistance for residential students experiencing personal, social, environmental, transitional, academic concerns or distress.
- Supervise and administer the co-curricular experience in the residence halls, including living-learning communities, programmatic initiatives, residential curriculum development, and the implementation of academic, social, and educational programs for students living in Student Housing.
- Coordinate with the Associate Provost, Dean of Students and Director of Student Integrity to develop and maintain the student conduct system within Student Housing. Ensure that all procedures are updated and disseminated to students and staff on a regular basis. Coordinate Student Housing participation and connection through regular contact with senior college administrators, faculty, parents and student leaders; Sustain collaborative relationships with campus and community partners in support of student engagement.
- Represent Student Housing with institutional and external stakeholders, including auxiliary services, business and finance, enrollment management, risk management, legal affairs, human resources, information technology, facilities and operation and communications.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of residence hall student organizations. Maintain proper administrative records to include student files, occupancy reports, employee files, and other pertinent data.
- Maintain a high-level awareness of national trends and concerns in higher education, residence life, student affairs, and student needs to develop effective strategies to keep the department at a progressive state relative to trends and industry peers. Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Provost for Student Affairs.
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited college/ university required.
- Demonstrated record of successful administrative leadership in higher education, residence life, or student housing.
- Experience with the development and implementation of Living Learning Communities.
- A proven record of successful experience responding to individual and community issues and crisis; familiarity, understanding, and experience working with students of concern / behavior intervention teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of student development theory and other issues impacting college students.
- An advanced understanding of institutional student recruitment and retention goals.
- An ability to analyze problems and strategically develop and communicate creative solutions to complex issues.

Job SummaryReporting to the Associate Provost for Student Affairs, the Director of Student Housing is responsible for leadership of student housing and residential living at Georgia Gwinnett College. Serving on the Student Affairs Leadership Team (SALT), this position will champion a dynamic on campus living and learning experience grounded in safety, engagement, and wellness for all resident students.
