    If you are an HVACR Professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will provide Sound & Vibration test support for production auditing, piloting, and engineering test programs.

    Operate and maintain all testing equipment such as Bruel & Kjaer data acquisition systems, microphones, and accelerometers, and have the ability to operate hot gas bypass test stands for refrigerant compressors.

    As an HVACR Sound and Vibration Technician, YOU WILL:


    • Provide general laboratory support.

    Test support includes but is not limited to:

    • Installing and running all types of Copeland compressor models.
    • Measuring sound power, start and stop the noise, vibration, and discharge pulse.
    • Complete and finalize the appropriate test documentation.
    • Perform routine maintenance on lab equipment.

    Required Education, Experience & Skills:

    • Associate Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC plus one (1) year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Must have basic HVAC or mechanical skills to compliment intermediate knowledge of software and related hardware to generate engineering test and measuring results.
    • Able to solve simple mechanical, plumbing, and or electrical problems.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
    • Must meet the physical demands of the position, which include frequent daily stooping and moving of compressors utilizing assistive equipment.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

    Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

    • Associate Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC plus Five (5) years of related experience, three (3) years of experience in HVAC testing, and/or three (3) years of experience in technical/laboratory field preferred.
    • Capable of handling, charging, and recovering refrigerant.
    • Excellent mechanical skills including experience with mechanical hand tools, pneumatic and electric tools, and brazing equipment.
    • Advanced knowledge of instrumentation/data acquisition.
    • Solid understanding of microphones, accelerometers, pressure transducers, thermocouples, and proximity probes.
    • Familiarity with tow motor operation and associated safety requirements.
