EXPERIENCED TAX ACCOUNTANT or SENIOR - Irvine, United States - Pathway Capital Management
Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare tax workpapers and support for external CPA tax advisor for partnerships and foreign corporations
Review various Fund of Fund Federal and State tax returns for partnerships and Cayman Blocker corporations prepared by external tax advisor
Perform review of Cayman Blocker tax provisions prepared by external tax advisor
Review analysis of investment partnership schedule K-1s / K-3s / Foreign Forms (8621,8865,926)
Prepare monthly distribution analysis of tax withholding for distributions to investors
Prepare quarterly ECI estimate analysis to determine ECI tax withholding
Prepare Form 8804 (ECI) and 1042 (FDAP) tax returns
Assist with resolving state notices
Assist with the preparation of tax-related correspondence
Manage high volume of tax-related email communications, both incoming and outgoing
Correspond with outside investment professionals
Oversee maintenance of extensive tax information in database
Experience with FATCA/ CRS AEOI reporting, preferred
Assist with resolving investor inquiries
Assist with special projects
Depending on experience level, work with management in overseeing staff and fostering a productive environment for the department
PERSONAL TRAITS:
The successful candidate should possess:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with at least 1-4 years of tax related experience, preferred in investment management industry
CPA license preferred / eligible
Flexibility with working paid overtime, as needed
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with internal accounting/finance team and external professionals
Strong organizational/multi-tasking and project planning skills
Ability to effectively prioritize projects to meet deadlines
Ability to multi-task and absorb high volumes of documentation and correspondence
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an attention to detail and an eye for accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively and professionally articulate via phone, email, and in person
Proficient in business systems applications such as Microsoft Office (Intermediate to advanced excel skills)
