- Provides non-medical, short-term counseling to adults, children, and youth of service members, including assessment, brief counseling, consultation, action planning, referral to resources, and follow-up.
- CYB counselors focus on supporting CDC, DoDEA, and community schools, youth programs, and summer camps, as well as providing parent training.
- Delivers training, health and wellness presentations, and participates in base activities.
- Enters counselor activity data daily through smart phone or web application while maintaining confidentiality.
- Master's Degree in a mental health related field or social work.
- Willing to accept assignments of varying length at short notice, including weekends.
- Builds rapport easily with clients, family members, students, and co-workers.
- Adaptable to new working conditions and adjusts working style accordingly.
- Capable of working effectively with minimal guidance.
- Attends regular in-services/training and other contract activities as assigned.
