Responsibilities

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join a skilled, highly respected and long-standing team supporting Analysis, Testing, and User Outreach of operational systems. This position requires an understanding of the Intelligence Community and customer domain, application of the Systems Engineering Principles, and experience using analytic techniques for problem solving. Activities include, but are not limited to:

Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates, and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle.
Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.
Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements.
Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development.
Designs interfaces and brings system elements together, so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower-level detailed requirements.
Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.
Considered a recognized authority within the company.
Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative.
Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
Perform analysis and evaluations related to mission capabilities or customer operations.
Perform project management required for integrating, testing, or evaluating systems.
Customer liaison, team collaboration, and coordination of activities across teams

Qualifications

Must possess and be able to maintain an active TS/SCI with Poly.
Bachelor's (or equivalent) with years of experience or a Master's with years of experience or PhD with 5-7 years of experience.
Experience working in an operational environment and demonstrated knowledge of user needs
Experience in analysis of complex systems or related problem solving activities
Understanding of the systems engineering life cycle activities, such as: Requirements definition or evaluation, Schedule and/or Time management, independent testing and data verification
Excellent presentation and communication skills; Demonstrated ability to clearly explain technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences
Demonstrated ability and success working in team environments
Customer focused and capable of representing the customer in user outreach and familiarity training activities and community forums
