We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structured Cabling Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems that form the backbone of modern telecommunications and network infrastructure. Duties
- Install, test, and terminate structured cabling systems including Ethernet, fiber optic cables, telephony, and low voltage wiring across various sites
- Perform fiber splicing with precision to ensure optimal signal transmission and minimal loss
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters to measure electrical resistance and verify cable integrity
- Conduct network installation tasks involving Cisco routers, switches, and other networking hardware to establish robust communication links
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cabling, network connectivity, telecommunication systems, and electrical components in the field
- Maintain detailed documentation of cabling layouts, test results, and service reports for project records
- Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure adherence to safety standards and project specifications
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or field technician specializing in telecommunication or networking infrastructure
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to cable management, conduit installation, and equipment mounting
- Proficiency in fiber splicing techniques and familiarity with fiber optic testing tools
- Hands-on experience with Ethernet cabling, telephony systems, and low voltage wiring installations
- Knowledge of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols and Cisco router configurations
- Ability to operate hand tools effectively and safely in various environments
- Electrical experience or background is highly desirable for troubleshooting power-related issues
- Valid field service certification or equivalent training in telecommunications or electrical systems is preferred
