• Performing phlebotomy techniques
• Demonstrating competence in venipuncture, micro collection, bleeding times, blood cultures, therapeutic phlebotomy, and Blood Bank specimens
• Ensuring positive patient identification
• Prioritizing phlebotomy duties for efficiency
• Scheduling tests and responding to stat draw requests promptly
• Updating patient information, demographics, and insurance details
• Maintaining equipment, inventory, and cleanliness of the drawing area
• Recognizing the importance of biohazard safety measures
• Performing medical necessity checks prior to out-patient phlebotomy
• Packaging specimens correctly and ensuring timely delivery
• Serving as a resource and providing training to new employees
