    This position will be responsible for providing Design support to customer-funded programs and internal research efforts within our Imaging Systems Business unit of L3Harris Corporation
    The L3Harris Imaging Division in Wilmington, MA designs and manufactures unique, cutting-edge solutions for space
    This site is an industry leader in the design and production of space-based mechanisms, telescopes, and payloads for small satellites in both the commercial and non-commercial markets to solve some of the toughest space-based challenges out there

    Essential Functions:

    • Uses independent judgement to create and release engineering drawings with 3D CAD tools, specifically Inventor and Vault.
    • Provide CAD support (Autodesk Inventor) to engineers and other designers.
    • Generate new drawings and documentation, as well as modify existing drawings and documentation.
    • Manage and control mechanical digital data files and drawings.
    • Applies use of applicable government and industry standards including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5) and Engineering Drawing Practices (ASME Y
    • Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders.
    • Input data and manage hardware structures in a Product Data Management tool (Vault).

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience
    In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

    • Strong mechanical aptitude and general understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques.
    • Experience with Connectors, Cables and Backshells a plus.
    • Previous experience in designing electro-optical and opto-mechanical payloads and sub-systems for aerospace & military defense applications.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • Prior Leadership skills.
    • DOD secret security clearance desired.
