    Description

    Position Description

    • Augment a supervising physician's data gathering abilities for patient care planning
    • Perform comprehensive physical examinations, elicit patient histories, order diagnostic tests and interpret results
    • Perform therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, suturing, and wound care
    • Develop and implement patient management plans, maintain records, and provide continuity of care
    • Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, emotional problems, and health maintenance
    • May render emergency medical service without supervision when necessary

    Required Qualifications

    • Graduation from a Physician Assistant's training program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association or graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a nurse practitioner from an approved certification program recognized by Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners
    • Current licensure/certification in Texas or ability to transfer license to Texas

    About Managed Care:

    TTUHSC Managed Care provides clinical and operational support to correctional facilities throughout West Texas and regional areas.
