    About the Company

Earable is a neuroscience company developing wearables that detect real-time neural signals to stimulate the brain to improve sleep, focus, and other cognitive functions. We are actively seeking an iOS software engineer to contribute to a team of highly motivated scientists, engineers, and medical professionals to develop innovative solutions in the field of neuro-wearables.

Our office is conveniently located within walking distance from the CU Boulder main campus.

    About the Role

As a Hardware Engineer in the team, you'll design cutting-edge wearable electronic circuits while supporting its cross-functional integration within the product. You will work together with the best software and hardware engineers from both Vietnam and the USA to build the next generation of Earable's wireless technologies. The Earable HW team is seeking a passionate and talented electrical engineer who can help propel product definition, system architecture, design, and execution while working together with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product implementation. You will be expected to analyze key systems engineering architectural and implementation trade-offs such as working together with the firmware team to verify and test firmware updates with hardware design changes. The role requires strong communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills. You will have the opportunity to work together with other engineers for the best standards, methodologies, and practices in systems development and institutionalized processes. You will regularly interact with cross-functional teams (like firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing), executives, and external partners, hence strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical. This is a full-time opportunity based in Boulder, Colorado.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Drive concept investigation, component comparison, design architecture, thorough testing and successful product integration of Earable's electronic technologies into various end products.
  • Work together with cross-functional teams in USA and Vietnam while providing them necessary hardware, testing and debugging support.
  • Partner closely with Firmware, Mechanical Engineering as well as with Industrial Design.
  • Utilize schematic and layout tools (like Altium) to guide as well as verify various PCB layout, gerbers and stack-up studies.
  • Periodically join hands-on prototype bring-up and debugging efforts as needed on a project-by-project basis.
  • Develop and document appropriate architecture with version control as well as various debug efforts, with attention to detail.
  • Review, influence, and challenge system performance decisions with new ideas.
  • Keep current with cutting edge electronics and wearable technology trends and vendor roadmaps.
  • Work closely with the business development team and product design team to iterate quickly on new features and experiments.

    Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in board-level mixed-signal PCB design and signal integrity.
  • 3+ years of experience to drive embedded designs from schematics, PCB Layout, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, characterizing all the way to manufacturing and product assembly.
  • 3+ years of working together alongside cross-functional industrial design, mechanical, firmware, software, manufacturing teams.
  • 2+ year of experience in CAD Design and Simulation as well as 3D printing of electromechanical assemblies with understanding of tolerances.
  • Strong desire to deep-dive system-level issues and drive problems to closure in a team-based environment with a proactive attitude.
  • Experience in wireless and wearable electronic technologies with end-end product support.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to guide critical decisions.
  • Proven track record of working in a fast-paced innovative work environment.
  • Must be highly motivated, self-starter with innovation and integrity.
  • Highly proficient in communicating and reading/writing in English.
