    Job Summary

    Position is responsible for coordinating and conducting Motional Analysis research projects and related activities within Memorial Hermann. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to perform all job related activities as outlined below. May serve as a resource and mentor to a Level I.

    Bilingual in any of the following languages: Spanish, Vietnamese, Somali, Amharic, or Oromo along with English.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education: Masters degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Human Performance, or a related field; Doctoral degree in one of the above or a related field preferred

    Licenses/Certifications: Certified C.S.C.S/N.A.S.M., P.E.S/N.A.S.M, and/or A.C.S.M-H.F.S strongly preferred

    Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

    • Minimum of one (1) year clinical experience required
    • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years experience in Kcal, VO2max and Lactate Threshold Profile testing in both running and cycling data collection
    • Strong coordination skills for managing a lab environment with a proven ability to manage multiple projects on a daily basis
    • Ability to work with a diverse patient population, from children to older adults
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    Principal Accountabilities

    Primary:

    • Oversees data analysis, including processing and preparing client reports.
    • Trains others to use and operate proper equipment for data collection and processing.
    • Conducts statistical analyses, interpret results, and compile results into tables and figures for research purposes.
    • Quality Control – includes creating and modifying check sheets for lab operation, monitoring and calibrating all lab hardware.
    • Assures proper data management including data back-up and storage issues. Maintaining computer network, software licensing, and security updates.
    • Corresponds with orthopedic surgeons and coaches on results of assessments.
    • Interacts with collaborators.
    • Presents relevant special topics in professional literature at clinic meetings, grand rounds, conferences, university settings and meetings as delegated or requested by the faculty
    • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
    • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
    • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Secondary:

    • Performs literature reviews to include assembling a collection of pertinent articles, reading and summarizing these manuscripts into coherent passages.
    • Assists in the preparation of IRB submissions, and research protocols.
    • Assists in preparing and submitting manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals for publication.
    • Prepares and administers of questionnaires.
    • Prepares presentations, abstracts, and posters for scientific meetings, and conducting presentations at scientific meetings.
    • Writes and/or modifies existing MATLAB programs to analyze data.
    • Provides Kcal, VO2max and Lactate Threshold Profile expertise to graduate and medical students and undergraduate interns.
