Description

Responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. Performs engineering design evaluations. May develop a range of products. Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years maintenance experience. A Journey Level Tradesman may qualify for this position.

Constructs, repairs, and maintains furniture, equipment, building, grounds, and other parts of hospital building using hand and power tools as assigned.

Assists with general maintenance activities as directed. Assists other technicians as needed to complete tasks. Working environment will depend on ambient conditions and may require wearing appropriate outer garments.

This technician is a member of hospital emergency response team and will; at times, be required to stay at facility for more than an eight hour shift.

Technician will at times be on-call without prior notice to meet the needs of the hospital.
Spends approximately 70% or more of time inside. Inside work has good ventilation, comfortable temperature. Spends approximately 30% or more of time outside.
