- 1+ years of bartending experience, preferably in a high volume or fine-dining setting.
- Ability to prepare and serve beverages to guests according to recipes and knowledge of standard cocktails.
- Stock/restock appropriate areas of the bar with alcohol, glassware, ice and supplies.
- Understands the importance of measuring and consistency.
- Effectively service a full bar top, service rail or assigned station per shift.
- A general understanding of Food, Liquor, Wine and Beer - with a passion to continue a higher level of understanding on all of these subjects.
- Ability to follow and execute steps of service.
- Understanding that we are curators of experiences, not order takers.
- A drive to be organized.
- Ability to maintain menu knowledge - including allergies, restrictions, modifications etc.
- An understanding of anticipatory service.

Our Bartenders our the main show here at Townhouse-Detroit. They are responsible for executing set standards of service and making sure our guests have the best possible experience at the bar. The beverage program at Townhouse Detroit features timeless classic cocktails with inspiration from around the world, with a Modern Twist, Soul and some Detroit Flare. Our menu will be ever evolving with the seasons and focused on using fresh ingredients and local produce.
