    DIRECTOR OF PREVENTION AND WELLNESS
    Coastal Carolina University seeks candidates for the Director of Prevention and Wellness.

    The Director of Prevention and Wellness is a full-time position reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President for Health and Well-Being.


    Duties include, but are not limited to: directing University efforts to promote wellness, health, and safety, among students including programs on holistic wellness, alcohol and other drug prevention, interpersonal violence prevention, and bystander intervention utilizing a socioecological framework, creation and implementation of campus-wide wellness initiatives, supervision of staff members assigned to provide wellness education, prevention, and service programs, oversight of university coalitions that promote partnerships among university and community constituents for the promotion of wellness and student safety, and providing training and education for the campus community.

    This position provides strategic leadership and direction utilizing empirically based practices to reduce high-risk health behaviors and increase student well-being.


    Requirements:

    A Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in public health, student affairs, counseling, social work or related field and experience in student services programs is required.

    Experience working with college students, prevention programs, peer educator programs is preferred.

    Salary range:
    $54, minimum) - $78, midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

    Required Qualifications


    Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in public health, student affairs, counseling, social work or related field and experience in student services programs.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience working with college students, prevention programs, peer educator programs.

    Licensure and/or Certification Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and emotional intelligence. Strong supervisory skills.

    Ability to interact in a non-judgmental manner with culturally diverse populations and persons experiencing a wide range of social conditions.

    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to use sound judgment when responding to issues and concerns. Ability to compile, analyze and present data for various audiences. Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, establishing and maintaining collaborative professional relationships. Strong time management skills (e.g., organization, prioritization, multitasking). Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency with MS Office 365 (i.e., outlook, word, PowerPoint, excel). Proficiency with use of computers (desktop, laptop, tablet). Proficiency with use of mobile devices (smartphones, mobile apps, etc.). Ability to read and write in English.
