Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

The Physician is directly accountable to the Chief of Medicine. This physician will help increase efficiency and productivity throughout the unit.
In addition, the Section Chief Gastroenterologist proactively communicates with the Medical Staff Department, the Chief of Staff and other members of the team to assure optimum results.
Provides oversight on Gastroenterology regarding consultations, evaluating clinic patients, and performing special procedures such as diagnostic EGD, snare polypectomy, variceal hemostasis, flexible sigmoidoscopy, liver biopsy, total colonoscopy, PEG, esophageal dilation with guidewire and paracentesis for optimal care.
Insures that physicians provide optimum patient care by assessing the skill set of physician's diagnostic and treatment plans, performance and documentation of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within their scope of individual privileges.
Physician will also participate in staff evaluations, communications and counseling.The incumbent may also be assigned to perform other clinical duties as assigned within the service and by the Chief of Service or Chief of Staff.
This physician will represent the interests of the unit to appropriate committees.This physician will be responsible and participate in educational programs for the inpatient unit personnel, update and develop inpatient policies and procedures.
