    RN Core Responsibilities (Short Version)

    Performs thorough head-to-toe assessments and reassessments per policy.

    Assesses and manages pain appropriately; educates patients and families on pain control.

    Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized plans of care daily.

    Provides age-appropriate care based on growth and development principles.

    Administers medications safely, following the five rights of medication administration.

    Creates and evaluates patient/family education plans based on identified learning needs.

    Performs technical skills within scope of licensure; seeks guidance when needed.

    Promotes respectful, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered care.

    Maintains a safe environment to reduce medical errors.

    Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and care coordination for discharge planning.

    Communicates effectively with leadership, physicians, and team members.

    Ensures accurate, timely documentation per standards.

    Safely operates equipment and supervises patient care as needed.

    Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and ability to manage stressful situations.

    Maintains required annual competencies, including bedside blood glucose testing.
