    Summary of Duties

    The Media and Communications Developer role is a dynamic leadership position within the City of Atlanta's Department of Procurement, focused on driving the department's media, videography, and graphics development efforts. This role entails a significant level of technical expertise, creative innovation, and the supervision of a team of creative content developers. The Media and Communications Developer is responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality visual and multimedia content, enhancing social media, training media, community outreach, and departmental communications. This position works closely with various stakeholders to advance the department's mission through strategic and impactful media content.

    • Media Production: Lead and supervise the production of professional-quality videos and multimedia content that effectively conveys the department's messages, including training materials, informational videos, and promotional content.

    • Creative Innovation: Foster a culture of creativity and innovation within the team, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance departmental content.
    • Team Leadership: Supervise a team of creative content developers, setting goals, providing guidance, and ensuring professional development opportunities.
    • Collaboration: Work with subject matter experts within the department and across the city to create engaging and effective training and community outreach content.
    • Technical Knowledge: Manages the team's use and accountability of multimedia equipment and software, ensuring high-quality production and fostering technical skill development.
    • Content Management and Quality Assurance: Manage a library of media, assets and ensure all content meets high standards of quality, accuracy, and accessibility.
    • Public Communications: Design and implement strategic communication plans to effectively disseminate the department's key messages and initiatives to a broad audience. Utilize a variety of channels, including press releases, social media, websites, and public events, to engage with the community, stakeholders, and media outlets. Monitor and analyze public feedback and media coverage to adjust strategies and improve communication efforts.
