- Completion of training on Canvas before tutoring sessions.

- Understanding and ability to teach elementary reading and math skills.
- Experience working with children aged 5-12.

Duration of Appointment: Fall and spring semesters
Job Summary: Miami University tutors will assist children in the local community to enhance their reading and math skills. Partnerships have been established with various local schools and organizations to offer personalized support for children in grades K-6 in reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary, and mathematics. No prior tutoring experience is required. All students are welcome to apply, with a preference for the College of Education, Health, and Society.
Applicants must commit to one semester of service. If selected by the Learning Lab, a State of Ohio criminal background check through the Miami University Police Department will be necessary before employment, with the cost covered by the Learning Lab.
