Casting Operator Casting/MeltingClassification: Non-ExemptDepartment: CastingReports to: SupervisorPurpose:The Casting Operator is responsible for monitoring equipment, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality, and reporting any changes in condition they can't control
General Duties:
Ensure equipment is operating within specified parametersEnsure quality is maintainedFill out required production documentsMaterial handlingAssist with tear down and rebuild of equipment requiring manual laborMaintain clean/organized work areaPerforms other duties as requiredSkills:Ability to work both independently and as a teamBasic troubleshooting and problem solvingAbility to identify nonstandard situations and respond accordinglyRequirements: High school degree or GED equivalency.
Basic mechanical aptitudeMust be willing to work a (4 Star) 12-hour shifts (willing to work every other weekend and some holidays).
Shifts are either 5:00 AM to 5:10 PM or 5:00 PM to 5:10 PMAble to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods, to include but not limited to:lifting, walking, standing, stooping, pulling, and pushingWilling to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations; including wearing personal protective equipmentMust work safely at all timesWilling to work in hot/humid, cold, noisy industrial environmentWilling to work around dust, oil, grease, chemicals, and other substancesAble to use a computer for basic reporting and documentationGood interpersonal skillsGood communication skills.
Ability to read, write, and communicate verballyAble to accurately use basic mathMolten metal experience strongly preferred
