    Description


    The Supply Chain Manager directs the overall supply chain activities of the organisation, including strategy, inventory management, planning, warehousing and shipping.

    This role is responsible for understanding and overall management of our manufacturing process for effective production and efficient on time delivery to customers.

    Key Accountabilities

    Provide overall direction of the warehouse, planning and transportation activities.


    Support the continued development of Studco's lean supply chain culture to gain continual process improvements and efficiencies across all divisions in conjunction with Production.

    Create / improve management control systems, review performance and overcome performance limiting issues

    Use data and daily/weekly reporting to drive actions on the floor to meet target KPI's and production planning.

    Accountable for setting and achieving the Logistics departmental budget including management of all transportation costs

    Support monitoring and controlling production output costs, with a heavy focus on 5S and lean principles.

    Evaluate and adjust available production capacity and planned requirements for both the Building Products and EZ Concept division.

    Manage expenditures for equipment, materials, and human resources, ensuring they are used efficiently to meet production targets.

    Monitor production scheduling to ensure all resources are used to optimise output.

    Monitor purchasing effectiveness to ensure materials and consumables are available within required time frames.

    Initiate and monitor inventory, quality, and cost control programs, managing cycles counts and inventory.

    Ensure product quality standards are developed and met.

    Management reporting on Supply Chain initiatives, savings and spend with full P&L responsibility for Supply Chain.

    Resolve problems on site as they arise, reducing the impact of unforeseen difficulties.

    Ensure the workforce has the appropriate skill sets and is motivated and performing to expectations.

    Responsible for the safe, neat and tidy appearance of the whole workplace environment.

    Other reasonable duties as directed.

    Communication

    Assist with facilitating warehouse cross shift huddles

    Communicate with Sales and Planning team to plan to market demands and needs.

    Effectively organise team meetings where communication and openness is paramount

    Continuous Improvement

    Regularly review production and warehouse processes with the relevant Managers and Front-Line Leaders to maximise efficiency.


    Review product design and manufacturing process and make or recommend improvements that will increase customer satisfaction and/or reduce materials/production costs.

    Maintain 5S and implement lean principles to reduce waste and inefficiencies.

    Essential Criteria

    Proven experience in leadership of supply chain operations management within a manufacturing environment

    Knowledge of raw steel materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective production performance.

    Knowledge of business and management principles involved in production and logistics.

    Effective oral communication skills including proven skills in leading a workforce, developing

    and managing cooperative working relationships and resolving issues by negotiation.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

    Focus on cost control and efficiency.

    Ability to handle pressure and assess and allocate priorities.

    "Can do", hands-on approach to work.
