    These responsibilities include trouble shoot and repair 3 phase, single phase and DC electrical circuits, general carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, equipment and electrical installations, preventative maintenance and facility support.


    Essential Functions:
    Serve as an electrician in repairing electrical malfunctions and installing/relocating equipment.

    Serve as a plumber in assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, air and sewer systems.

    Serve as a carpenter in the alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding forms, wood fixtures and furniture.

    Make preventive maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment associated with the work orders and projects, take appropriate action to make the needed repairs.

    Document and update the Supervisor with the statuses of these assignments.

    Attend daily meetings with the Supervisor to discuss and prioritize the known work orders and projects that need to be completed.

    Be available to respond to unplanned maintenance requests received from employees throughout the plant and office.
    Develop and maintain knowledge of the plant and the machine operations.
    Adhere to all policies, procedures, and/or requirements set forth in AKG's environmental management system (EMS).


    Secondary Functions:
    Perform minor repairs to the air conditioning system as needed.

    Use fabrication in altering, and suggesting ways to adjust, the Engineers' drawings to better accommodate the needs of the plant operations.

    Build storage or work areas as needed, these are built per the drawings designed by the Engineers.
    Drive to suppliers when needed, to get equipment needed in performing maintenance repairs in the plant and office.

    Attend training classes, when offered, to ensure there is current knowledge of how to make repairs and perform maintenance throughout the plant.


    Minimum Qualifications:


    Completion of a formal trade school program with equipment maintenance concentration, apprenticeship program and/or on-the-job trainingMinimum 5 years of prior experience in the field of general repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, and air conditioning.

    Ability to read and understand detailed blueprint instructions.
    Ability to use and understand measuring tools.
    Ability to use hand and power tools.
    Strong analytical skills, with the ability to determine how a repair needs to be made.
    Must have great attention to detail.
    Must have the ability to work cautiously in a fast-paced environment.
    Must have basic computer skills.


    Physical Demands:
    Must be able to sit (5%), stand (10%) and walk (85%) of the time. May also be required to bend, stoop, pull, push, twist and turn.
    Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. (25%) of the time.

    Must be able to use a lift, power toolsMust use safety equipment such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection.

    Safety glasses and hearing protection are provided.
