- Promote and support the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of students; create and implement child-centered lesson plans using the Creative Curriculum; track student development through documentation on Teaching Strategies GOLD.
- Create and maintain an environment that is welcoming, clean, organized, and safe for all children.
- Supervise Teacher Aides and guide them to implement curriculum and other activities.
- Develop and continually improve a multilingual/multicultural, family-engaged environment that adheres to Preschool Promise Program guidelines and Oregon Certified Childcare licensing requirements.
- Abide by all local regulations and safety protocols.
- Assist children with activities of daily life (e.g., restroom use, feeding, dressing); support children to build independence and develop healthy habits.
- Promote health and safety by following cleaning and sanitizing procedures throughout the day and when closing the classroom.
- Maintain and keep confidential records of children's health, development, and medication administration following IRCO Preschool Policies and Procedures.
- Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care and friendly service.
- Complete all necessary paperwork promptly, including archiving weekly lesson plans and student/staff attendance.
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
- Child Development Associate's credential; associate or bachelor's degree with major coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related subject; OR Step 10 in the Oregon Registry Online.
- Proficiency in child development and early education theories and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge and understanding of immigrant and refugee cultures and local populations.
- Bilingual in English and a second language preferred, and experience/ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and communicate orally and in writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Compassionate with the ability to adapt to stressful conditions and manage time efficiently.
- Enrollment in the Central Background Registry.
- Ability to function positively in a demanding work environment, demonstrate a high degree of flexibility, respond to priorities and schedules that change frequently, and meet commitments.

LANGUAGE: High level proficiency in written and spoken English; bilingual preferred.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
IRCO Preschool is looking for an on-call Substitute Lead Teacher to support our program in the Lead Teacher's absence. The ideal candidate will be able to start soon, have reliable transportation, and already be registered with ORO (Oregon Registry Online). The Substitute Lead will instruct children (3-5 years of age) in activities designed to promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth using the Creative Curriculum, as well as reinforcing children's home languages and cultures. They will incorporate family member participation in the classroom and extra-curricular activities. The Substitute Lead will collaborate with the Site Director and Assistant Manager of Preschool Programs on programming, school events, and quality assurance. This position requires strong supervisory, leadership, and communication skills along with a warm and nurturing disposition. The Substitute Lead must be able to work positively within a parent-participation school environment and promote an atmosphere of community and cooperation.

Education: Associate's Degree (3)
Experience: 1-2 years of experience is required (3)
Computers: All positions at IRCO require use of a computer and experience working with Microsoft Products including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. In addition, this position specifically requires:
