    POSITION DUTIES

    The main purpose of this position is to provide psychological assessments and treatment to Springfield patients with serious persistent mental illness, personality disorders, co-occurring disorders, addiction, and trauma and recovery issues. This position facilitates recovery, increases optimal patient functioning, and facilitate rapid successful community re-entry. Treatment and assessments are evidence-based treatment and/or proven to advance patients towards successful community re-entry. This position provides assistance with training and supervision of psychologists, psychology interns, and psychology externs where needed and/or appropriate.\r
    The position supports the mission of the organization through active participation in clinical efforts to provide treatment in a recovery-oriented environment. The foundation of a recovery-oriented environment is respect and a commitment to safety in the least restrictive manner possible.\r

    Per the Amended Directive and Order Regarding Vaccination (MDH # issued by the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health, effective April 18, 2023, staff in all hospitals and residential facilities operated by the Maryland Department of Health or any local health department are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Staff includes, but is not limited to, regular and contractual employees, contractual staff, volunteers, and other state employees performing any duties at the facility.     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:�A Doctorate degree in Psychology, as defined by the Health Occupations Article, Title g), Annotated Code of Maryland.\r
    Experience:�One year of supervised experience rendering direct psychological services, providing psychological assessments, and evaluating the delivery of psychological services.\r
    Notes:\r
    1. Candidates may substitute the completion of a twelve month full-time or twenty-four month half-time internship in rendering psychological services for the required experience, provided the internship is a requirement for the Doctorate degree in Psychology.\r
    2.�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in�Clinical Psychology classifications or Psychology specialty codes in the Psychology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r

    LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

    In accordance with the Health Occupations Article, Title b4), employees in this classification are required at the time of hire to apply jointly with the supervising Psychologist to the State Board of Examiners of Psychologists for an exemption from licensure.� The exemption must be received within six months of submitting the application.\r

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

    1.�Candidates for this classification may be given a medical examination to��determine their ability to perform job related functions.\r
    2.�Employees in this classification must be licensed as a Psychologist by the�Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists within three years of appointment�to a position.\r
