    As a Clinical Risk Manager, you will manage the organization's daily risk management program. You will assists in managing the assigned Clinical Risk Management (CRM) program on a day-to-day basis. The manager takes a lead role in the mentoring and development of new CRM team members. This role collaborates with leadership throughout the enterprise to develop and maintain an effective CCHS CRM infrastructure.

    Responsibilities:

    • Safety Event Reporting System (SERS)

    Event Management:
    Identifies, codes and manages event reports for assigned Institutes or Hospitals.

    • Learns Root Cause Analyses concepts and required documents and develops meeting facilitation skills.
    • Learns management processes for disclosure of unanticipated outcomes and medical errors.
    • Performs all duties under supervision of the department leader or experienced CRMs.
    • Identifies cases that may be potential claims and provides an early notification to other departments (Law, ERI) once identified.
    • Presents cases to Medical Legal, Huddle I and Huddle II in a timely manner.
    • Serves as resource for any risk related issues/information. Analyzes and interprets basic data and conveys results.
    • Participates in Institute/Hospital Committees representing Clinical Risk Management.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree required. Master preferred.

    Certifications:

    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) or other healthcare discipline licensure strongly preferred
    • Current certification as Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management preferred
    • Current FASHRM, DFASHRM, CPPS or CPHQ certification, or other advanced education in the field of quality preferred.

    Competencies (Complexity of Work):

    • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum five years clinical experience required (recent clinical experience is preferred).
    • Minimum three years risk management, quality management or legal nurse consulting experience preferred.
    • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
    • Requires frequent computer entry, standing, walking and sitting. Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
    • Normal or corrected hearing and speech.

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
