    Description

    Definition:

    Under supervision, to keep assigned buildings, classrooms, and office spaces clean and orderly; to perform custodial tasks in the care of floors, furniture, walls, and equipment; to perform minor grounds maintenance tasks; and to perform related work as required.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities to perform duties. A typical qualifying entrance background is entry-level experience performing custodial work.
    • Knowledge of basic methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work; operation, use, and minor maintenance of custodial equipment; appropriate safety precautions and procedures in the course of work.
    • Ability to learn schedules, procedures, and the use of tools and equipment; work with limited supervision often working alone on evening shift; learning to use cleaning materials, disinfectants and equipment used in custodial work; use hand and power tools of custodial work safely; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
    • Successfully pass the Garvey School District Custodian II Written Test.
    • Completion of a Criminal Records Check prior to beginning work.

    Comments and Other InformationTesting will be required:

    Applicants who successfully pass the application paper screening phase will be notified for Written Test on future dates to be determined.
