    Position Description
    Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. We own an interest in or operate approximately 82,000 miles of pipelines and 139 terminals. Our pipelines transport natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, carbon dioxide (CO2) and more
    Petrophysicist, Houston, TX -based.

    Petrophysical leader responsible for contributions to evaluating subsurface CO2 flooding projects and new prospects in EOR and carbon capture in the Permian Basin, SW Colorado, and Gulf Coast regions.

    Works in partnership with development and surveillance teams, drilling team, completions team, reservoir engineering team, and geological team specialists. Performs basic to complex tasks for petrophysical evaluation. Other duties as assigned.
    Position Requirements

    Position Requirements:
    Master's degree in geoscience or engineering with 15 or more years of practical oil and gas industry experience. Demonstrated English writing and presentation skills. Broadly experienced in common geological software platforms.

    Desirable experience:

    • Exploration type petrophysical rock property creation: porosity, permeability and saturation estimates using wireline logs and core analysis.
    • Analysis in many types of conventional reservoirs – simple and complex, both carbonate and clastics
    • Multimineral petrophysical analysis required in higher end software like Geolog, IP, or Techlog
    • Permeability modeling
    • Log facies creation
    • Saturation height modeling a plus, or demonstrate ability to quickly learn
    • Geology and geophysics integration
    • Multiwell petrophysical output and large database management
    • Some Python or similar coding experience for custom advanced analysis a plus
    Position level will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.

    Physical demands:
    Predominantly office environment with some travel to field operations and remote sites.

    Working conditions:
    Works independently with minimal supervision with regular and predictable attendance. Computer-based activities. Hybrid work schedule possible. Working after hours, nights, weekends, holidays as needed by asset(s).
