    Safety Engineer Position at MicroHealth in Orlando, FL


    About the Role:
    This is a part-time on-site role with MicroHealth as a Safety Engineer in Orlando, FL.


    • Conduct ongoing safety reviews and assessments with experienced personnel.
    • Ensure system design follows guidelines set by MIL-STD-882.
    • Achieve safety in the design and meet all system-specific safety requirements.
    • Verify the safe design of the system and assess safety risks before installation, testing, and operation.
    • Implement tasks to identify and eliminate hazards throughout the system lifecycle.
    • Ensure safety in system design, operation, transportation, maintenance, support, and disposal.
    • Perform safety analyses, hazard identification, and classification integral to the system design process.
    • Present safety considerations and mitigations at program management meetings.
    • Document safety assessments, checklists, reports, or research for the government.

    Additional Safety Requirements:

    • Label the panic button with instructions for intuitive use.
    • Conduct noise assessments in line with OSHA and DoD standards for safety warnings.

    Physical Demands:
    While working, you may be required to sit, walk, handle objects, and communicate. Occasional standing, lifting, and specific vision abilities are also necessary.
