    Summary:
    The Customer Service Technician plays a vital role in ensuring seamless operations within a pharmacy environment by serving as the frontline point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams. This position is essential to maintaining high standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The technician supports pharmacy workflow by accurately processing prescriptions, managing patient inquiries, and maintaining detailed records with precision. With a focus on continuous improvement and exceptional customer service, the Customer Service Technician contributes to a positive patient experience while supporting the pharmacy's mission of accuracy, timeliness, and accessibility in medication delivery. This entry-level role offers a strong foundation for career growth in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
    Responsibilities:
    • Respond to patient and provider phone calls with professionalism, empathy, and clarity.
    • Accurately enter and manage prescription data into pharmacy workflow systems.
    • Assist with basic prescription processing, including verification, refill requests, and insurance eligibility checks.
    • Maintain up-to-date and accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
    • Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure timely and error-free prescription fulfilment.
    • Identify and report discrepancies, system errors, or process inefficiencies to supervisors for resolution.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on workflow processes and customer service experiences.
    • Handle confidential patient information with discretion and integrity.
    • Adhere to all safety, compliance, and operational protocols within the pharmacy.
    Requirements
    • Must have a current, valid Florida Pharmacy Technician registration (license).
    • Must have previous customer service experience.
    • Strong phone communication and data entry skills with proven accuracy in high-volume environments.
    • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and ability to thrive as a team player in a fast-paced setting.
    • Prior experience in a compounding pharmacy is highly desirable.
    • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program is a strong plus.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Familiarity with pharmacy workflow systems and basic prescription processing procedures.
    • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality principles.
    • Ability to multitask, manage time efficiently, and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Commitment to continuous improvement and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced healthcare setting.
    Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM
    Location: Palm Harbor, FL (Tampa/St. Petersburg area preferred)
    Employment Type: Full-Time, W2
    Pre-employment: Drug screen and background check required (company-paid).
