Brief Description

Serves as shift supervisor for the BondWarrant Desk, collects cash receipts, and generates paperwork necessary to secure the release of individuals on bond.

Supervises approximately six (6) BondWarrant Desk Clerks.

Detailed DescriptionSupervises the operation of the BondWarrant Desk in accepting and processing appearance bonds and confirming warrants in accordance with state laws and departmental policy.

Completes performance evaluations, establishes work priorities, and assigns duties. Reconciles funds collected, reviews receipts against reports, notifies Fiscal Manager of discrepancies and prepares deposits.

Ensures corrects funds are in money change boxes prior to and at the end of shift and makes change as needed throughout the shift.

Prepares and reviews all training reports and coordinates the indoctrination and training of assigned staff. Coaches staff and resolves employee complaints. Provides bond information to the general public and law enforcement agencies and confirms Dallas County warrants of arrest.

Generates court notifications, jail releases on various types of bonds, and other forms and other reports and ensures bonds and releases are delivered to intakerelease sections within designated timeframes.

Accepts, processes, and assists attorneys in obtaining Writs of Habeas Corpus during hours in which the courts are closed. Assists in the preparation of the budget and development of the section standard operating procedures. and acts as a liaison with outside agencies, the courts and the jail section. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job RequirementsGraduation from an accredited high schoolGED Program. Five (5) years of work related experience or 75 hours of college credit or a combination of the two. Experience must include at least one (1) year bondwarrant experience. Skilled in the use of standard software applications.

Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public.

Must be bondable and qualify for Notary Public. Mandatory drug test prior to and during employment. Requires successful completion of a polygraph and extensive background investigation and is subject to random, unannounced drugalcohol testing. May be subject to changes in shift schedules and days off. Located in the Lew Sterrett Justice Center, 1st Floor Bond Desk area.
