    Senior Accountant (Accounts Receivable Focus)

    Summary

    This seasoned accounting professional must be an independent thinker who is comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Must be process driven and customer service oriented. This position is located at our Belleville NJ plant. The position is a salaried exempt role with quarterly discretionary bonus.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the full-service account receivables cycle, including invoicing, collections, and cash application
    • Generate and distribute invoices to customers in a timely manner
    • Review bank and credit card transactions daily and post customer payments to the appropriate general ledger account
    • Monitor accounts receivable inbox for inquiries from customers
    • Communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances, payment reminders, statements, and payment arrangements
    • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any billing or payment issues
    • Reconcile the receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
    • Respond to and assist with external requests from customers in a professional and timely manner
    • Respond to and assist with internal requests from sales, management, and other teams
    • Ensure accurate and complete customer information is maintained in the ERP
    • Assist with month end responsibilities, audits and other projects.
    • Additional ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • 3-5 years of prior successful experience in a high-volume corporate accounting role, including but not limited to: collections, accounts payable/receivable.
    • Demonstrated skills in executing daily finance department functions.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF editor must demonstrate proficiency in Excel.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize data from multiple sources.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize.
    • Ability to work well with others and is self-motivated, a self-starter and needs little supervision.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills, in interaction with fellow employees, customers, and vendors

    Desired Skills

    • NetSuite experience
    • Some College or associate degree within accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience, strong attention to detail in financial processes.
