    Description

    Position Overview: Infant and Toddler Caregivers will be responsible for providing loving care and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for infants aged 6 weeks to two years old. This is a vital role at CCA as we lovingly care for families and their young children.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants. This includes creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where infants feel secure and cared for, embodying Christ-like behavior in interactions with both infants and colleagues.
    2. Properly and timely attending to the personal needs of the infant, such as changing diapers at least every two hours, and 15 minutes before expected departure and on an as needed basis and feeding infants in alignment with the parents requested schedule,
    3. Develop and implement age-appropriate activities to promote infant and toddler development in areas such as cognitive, social-emotional, and physical skills. These activities should be tailored to the individual needs of each infant, reflecting a peaceful demeanor and patience in guiding their growth.
    4. Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress, daily activities, and developmental milestones. This may include daily verbal updates, written reports, and parent-teacher conferences, demonstrating integrity and transparency in all communications.
    5. Ensure proper hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained within the infant room. This includes regularly sanitizing toys, equipment, and surfaces, as well as following proper handwashing procedures, reflecting self-control and attention to detail in maintaining a clean environment. Following pre prescribed diapering procedures meticulously.
    6. Follow licensing regulations, policies, and procedures related to infant care and education. This includes adhering to state and local regulations regarding child-to-staff ratios, health and safety protocols, and record-keeping requirements, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation in upholding standards.
    7. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure continuity of care and a cohesive learning environment for all children. This may involve participating in team meetings, sharing observations and insights, and coordinating activities and transitions, embodying a spirit of teamwork and mutual support.
    8. Observe and assess each child's development and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. This may involve documenting observations, tracking developmental milestones, and consulting with parents/guardians and supervisors as needed, demonstrating a commitment to personalized care and continuous improvement.
    9. Provide a warm and supportive environment that fosters trust and security for both infants and their families. This includes building positive relationships with infants and their families, offering emotional support and reassurance, and demonstrating sensitivity to cultural and individual differences, embodying Christ-like love and compassion in all interactions.
    10. Proactively seeking out and attending training to maintain requirements according to state and other agency standards, and the additional standards required by CCA.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
    • Six months of previous experience working with infants in a licensed childcare or early childhood education setting.
    • Knowledge of infant development and early childhood education best practices.
    • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Possess character traits such as Christ-like behavior, serving as a role model of patience, respectfulness, integrity, and self-control.
