    Senior Staff Assistant Alumni Arena Manager Finance and Management, Division of Event Management Office Staff & Administration SL3 $55,200-$59,200 (Depending on Experience) Full-Time No

    The Alumni Arena Manager will serve as an integral part of the leadership team of the Campus Event Management Office. They will provide leadership, vision, and supervision for a multiuse facility, including the supervision of the day-to-day operation of the arena and all associated activities and programming. This includes participation in major events such as Commencement, Spring Open House, Honors Convocation, and Spring Fling concert, and coordination of all activities that take place on the ice such as varsity and club ice hockey games and practices, PE classes, and intramural activities. This position will assist in running events that occur at all of Cortland's sports facilities on campus, including the Stadium Complex, Park Center, and Lusk Fieldhouse.

  • Schedule and manage the Alumni Arena for events both with and without ice which includes games, practices, graduations, and other major college events.
  • Manage ice installation, daily ice maintenance and ice removal, maintenance and operation of ice arena equipment including ice resurfacer and ice edger.
  • Assist with supervision of sport facilities which includes setting up and breaking down events, staff placements, and overseeing of games/ events (evening, weekend, and holiday hours required).
  • Manage the training and development of student employees which includes hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising of student personnel.
  • Purchase, maintain and store all inventory, equipment and supplies related to arena operations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of sport facilities operational policies.
  • Reports to the Sport Facilities Manager under the Campus Event Management office.
  • Works collaboratively with Athletics, Recreation Sports and Physical Education departments
  • Additional working relationships with faculty other college departments.
  • Supervisor student staff.
  • Minimum 1 year managing a multipurpose facility with ice.
  • Experience with ice installation and removal, daily ice maintenance, and operation of an ice resurfacer.
  • Experience in the service aspects of arena management.
  • Bachelor's degree or minimum 3 years managing a multipurpose facility with ice
  • Operational knowledge to manage and schedule sport facilities and fields
  • Experience in hiring, training, scheduling, supervising student personnel
  • Membership and/or certification with United States Ice Rink Association (USIRA) and/or North East Ice Skating Managers Association (NEISMA)
  • Marketing experience
  • Experience success in budget management and revenue generation
  • Experience with EMS facilities scheduling software
