    Summary

    The Aircrew Program Manager (APM) is responsible for the adequacy of aircrew ground and flight training/testing and standards for specific aircraft of an assigned air carrier. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Principal Operations Inspector (POI). Manages programs on assigned aircraft including designated examiners and/or Aircrew Program Designees (APD).

    Duties

    Develops a work program to ensure periodic surveillance of designated pilot and flight engineer examiners, pilot and flight engineer check airmen, and company training programs. Assures the assigned air carrier conducts flight crew training and testing required by appropriate FARs, FAA ­approved training programs, and current testing standards. Serves as the technical advisor to the POI on assigned areas of the company's training and testing programs. Conducts enforcement investigations and prepares final reports and recommendations on disposition. Performs or assists in the emergency suspension of airmen certificates. Conducts re-examination of certificated airmen.

    Monitors assigned areas of the flight crew training program and associated records to ensure compliance with pertinent FARs, national and regional directives, and safe operating practices.

    Recommends the designation of APDs and pilot examiners. Responsible for the conduct of ATP flight tests, additional type ratings, and Flight Engineer (F/E) certification; PIC, SIC, and F/E proficiency tests; SIC and F/E initial qualification tests, and Line Oriented Flight Training (LOFT).

    The incumbent will be required to participate in the flight program as an aircrew member and, as such, must meet the medical and flight currency requirements as set forth in agency orders governing the operation of aircraft.
