    Job Description Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThis position is responsible for overseeing and managing capital projects, facility renovations/retrofits, process improvements, equipment installations, and utility installations and modifications.

    Essential Job FunctionsProvides necessary leadership for managing small, medium, and large projectsFacilitates collection of project requirements, objectives and expectationsMaintains consistent communications with project teams and leadershipLeads definition of project objectives, scope development, and front-end engineering to support project development and executionPrepares and submits budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports; monitors costs incurred; identifies budget issuesMonitors project milestones and deliverablesNegotiates with project stakeholders or suppliers to obtain resources or materialsPlans, schedules, or coordinates project activities to meet deadlinesProduces and distributes project documents; manages project documentation; ensures engineering drawings and related documents properly handled, labeled, searchable, versions noted, etc.

    Monitors progress of projects; adjusts as necessary to ensure successful completionReviews the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standardsDevelops and updates project plans including information related to objectives, schedules, funding, and staffingProvides proposal review and approval modifications to project plansReviews and reports project outcomes/risks to appropriate management channelsConducts post-project evaluations; identifies opportunities for improvementManages all project funds according to established accounting policies and proceduresOversees project controls including project cost estimating, planning/scheduling, project benchmarking, effective cost control/forecasting, effective project progress control, contracting/procurement -plans, cash flow management and financial status of the projectEvaluates project team members, project managers, or other project related positions performance against requirements of projectDirects daily work of Project Engineers supporting major projects; ensures fulfillment of roles and responsibilitiesAbides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EHSS principles and values; champions safety at all times; participates in and/or leads safety teams or projects as appropriatePerforms other duties assigned by management that generally fall within the expected scope of this positionNothing in this job description restricts managements right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

    Experience & KSAs RequiredMinimum of 10 years experience in plant related construction projectsProven leadership and influencing skills; training in project management requiredProject Engineering experience in Petrochemical, chemical, or refining industry is a plusThorough knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, and other project-related activities; able to emphasize interfaces and interdependencies of all project work and disciplinesExperienced in and understanding of cost controls, budgeting or other financial components of project management; negotiation skills; financial knowledge importantResourceful, creative and able to work with limited resources and staffAbility to work without direct supervision to accomplish goals and meet schedulesPossesses strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; ability to evaluate situations and act accordinglySolid presentation skills; ability to create presentations as necessaryAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignmentsGood computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to use database systems and other programs and applications used by this position and at CompanyFluent in English language including reading, writing and speaking; ability to read and write at a minimum of high school level; ability to clearly communicate to all levels in organizationEducation RequirementBachelors Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering helpfulCertified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferredCompetenciesAll Company Core CompetenciesWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
