    • Social ServicesDescriptionThe Major Gift Officer is responsible for supporting the Philanthropy arm of the Development team and for the implementation and assessment of HAWC's individual donor efforts, under the guidance of the Vice President of Philanthropy, to support the agency's overall revenue generation.
    This position implements the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts for individual major donors and stakeholders and is responsive to the evolving organizational needs, priorities, and key stakeholders using department-approved fundraising strategies.


    Work Schedule:
    Monday Friday9 am 6 pm OR8 am 5 pm
    Local Travel: 25%

    QualificationsThe Requirements We are Seeking:
    Bachelor's Degree.
    Masterspreferred.

    A minimum of five years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, non-profit board management, customer experience, or sales.

    A minimum of five years of experience working for a nonprofit that raises a minimum of $1.5M+ per year from private sources OR responsible for securing a minimum of $1.5M+ per year toward a revenue goal.

    Texas driver's license with a good driving record; reliable transportation; ability to travel to off-site locations utilizing personal transportation, if applicable.

    CFRE or other fundraising certification preferred.

    Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Word, Excel, Teams, and OutlookExperience in Donor Management/CRM software, Raiser's Edge, or equivalent database preferred.

    Computer savvy and able to learn new applications and systems quickly.

    What you Deliver in this role:

    You will work under the guidance of the Vice President of Philanthropy to manage a portfolio of 150 assigned major donors (individuals, families, family foundations, community stakeholders) with minimum annual giving potential of $10,000 through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship actions.

    You will track and secure $1M in individual philanthropic funds for the organization while ensuring gifts are accurately coded with proper documentation.

    You will assist in capital campaign activities, including prospect management, volunteer coordination, and development of persuasive materials and presentations.

    You will support donor retention and recapture through strong stewardship and strategy while increasing donors' level of giving and involvement.

    You will work as key point person and relationship manager for donors coordinating in-person meetings, site visits, and tours to educate donors on HAWC and foster relationships.

    You will maintain and build HAWC presence at relevant community events throughout the year.

    You will work with the Chief Development Officer and VP of Philanthropy to communicate with the Board of Directors to identify key members of the community that are potential major donors.

    You will track all assigned donor notes, actions, relationships, communications, interests, demographics, motivations, and attributes in the fundraising database Raiser's Edge.

    You will maintain the integrity, security, and accuracy of assigned donor data in Raiser's Edge.
    You will examine and evaluate portfolio activity and provide reports, presentations, and recommendations regularly.

    You will work with the Development team on special events and campaigns throughout the year with public speaking as needed.

    You will participate in ongoing professional development and networking opportunities.
    Other duties/projects may be assigned.
