Proactively initiates process improvement ideas assists with clinical instruction and new orientee staff precepting and serves as a resource person to lower level therapists practices standard precautions enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies on a continual basis documents and charges for procedures neatly accurately thoroughly completely ensures quality standards set by the department and hospital responds immediately all code blue emergencies providing cpr according american heart association guidelines performs airway maintenance including proper use manual resuscitators oral nasal pharyngeal airway insertion airway suctioning extubation assist tracheostomy insertion perform tracheostomy tube change assist bronchoscopy procedural respiratory support properly utilizes patient assessment skills protocols chart review conferring multidisciplinary team determine efficacy therapy cost time efficient manner making appropriate recommendations changes per department protocol performs respiratory therapies oxygen delivery therapies makes recommendations most efficient delivery method per protocol assists physicians diagnostic therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures including equipment setup maintenance documents charges procedures accurately thoroughly meet quality standards provides effective patient education on therapy modalities ensure understanding care benefits demonstrates knowledge infection control safe body mechanics applicable regulations standards proactively initiates process improvement ideas assists clinical instruction staff precepting performs mechanical ventilators conventional non-conventional modes ventilation responds immediately code blue emergencies providing cpr american heart association guidelines obtains analyzes reports arterial blood gases co-oximetry findings performing quality controls needed other duties assigned qualification requirements associate required advanced cardiac life support cert acls rq resuscitation quality improvement basic life support bsl rq resuscitation quality improvement neonatal resuscitation program nrp ev accredited issuing body pediatric advanced life support palrq resuscitation quality improvement state registered respiratory therapist rrt ev accredited issuing body pay range dollar sign 4409 this facility equal opportunity employer complies federal state local discrimination laws regulation ordinances
